Hello lovelies! I’m very excited as I write this because I found something I wish I had learned about sooner. I found a place that delivers Indian groceries and pre-made meals, which I have never seen in any meal kit delivery services!
If you’re put off by Indian food because you’ve never had it, please keep reading. It’s definitely worth your try because it is:
1. Healthy.
The spices (hello turmeric!) and plant-based recipes are friends to your body. There are also lots of vegetarian options.
2. Delicious.
As much as we all love pizza (it would be my last meal if given the choice), it’s fun to mix things up! I particularly learned this in travels through the UK and Australia, where Indian food places are like burrito places in the US.
Let’s begin with this disclaimer: I will be the first to say that I am not an expert in cooking in Indian food. I say this because I have been fortunate to have a close friend who was born and grew up there who cooked for me.
It was a fun trade because I cooked her things from an Italian kitchen, and she cooked me things from an Indian kitchen.
This is precisely why I was so excited to learn about Quicklly, which is an online source for Indian groceries, already prepared meals delivered to your door, and restaurants. Let me reiterate…Quicklly does MEAL KIT DELIVERY FOR INDIAN DISHES!
I will take a detour here to explain more fully why I love Indian food. Here in the US, we are spoiled when it comes to delicious Mexican food. However, what we take for granted, people in the UK and Australia do in terms of Indian food. When I was in Sydney, my favorite place was a little hole-in-the wall takeaway place for Indian food.
Now don’t get me wrong – no one loves tacos more than I do – but I also love a good curry. Spice is quite literally the spice of life, and I think so many people stateside would adore this cuisine if it were more prevalent!
A great benefit of Indian cooking (as I wrote about in Plant-Based Versus Vegetarian Eating) is that there are a lot of plant-based options. So whether you are trying to move to more vegetarian meals or are trying to lower your grocery bill, here is a cuisine where vegetables and plant proteins shine!
Reminder - Why You Should Try Indian Food:
1. Vegetarian options.
If you are looking to eat less meat, you will have no problem here. Not only is eating vegetarian frequently healthier, but it is also cheaper. In these days of rising food costs, we all want something cheaper!
2. Flavor profile.
The beauty of this cuisine is that it tends to have a different flavor profile than a happen to be really, really good for you.
3. Spice level varies.
It is a common misconception that all Indian food is spicy. You can alter the spice level to your personal preference. However, as someone who suffers from sinus issues, spice is the best thing that ever happened to me, and in these dishes spice can really shine!
And what easier way than to have it already cooked for you?? That is a time-saver that also adds a little excitement to your day because it’s something potentially new and different!
